The companions

Friends live on the page itself — they hold their spot on your screen as you scroll. Spawn one from the floating leaf at the corner: sun, dog, bird, seed, star, cloud… or any word, and one volunteers. Ten at a time; when an eleventh arrives, the eldest wanders home. Sunny writing in the room above also calls them out on its own.
